Everyone Loves Math ("ELM", "I", "me") is a one-person math tutoring and education business run by Joey Serra in St. Petersburg, Florida. This page explains what information this website and the family portal collect and how it's used.

What this website collects
This website does not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies. The only accounts are the family portal's, described below. Otherwise, information reaches me only when you choose to send it:
- Booking a session. Bookings and payments are handled by Calendly and Stripe. They collect the name, email, and payment details you enter, and share your booking details (not your full card number) with me so I can run your session.
- Emailing me or joining my email list. I receive your email address and whatever you write, and use it only to reply or to send Everyone Loves Math updates. You can unsubscribe or ask to be removed at any time.
- Tutoring sessions. Virtual sessions run on Zoom. As described on the tutoring pages, sessions are transcribed so families receive notes and a summary afterward.
Embedded content
Some pages include videos from YouTube and calendars from Calendly. Those services may set their own cookies when the embedded content loads, under their own privacy policies.
The ELM Board and family portal
During sessions, students write on the ELM Board, and that work is kept in a private notebook for each student. Families can view it in the family portal at my.everyonelovesmath.com. Here's what's collected, including from students under 13, with a parent's consent:
- From the student, through the board: what they write and draw, and any photos or files added to their page during a session, such as a picture of a worksheet. Please leave faces and personal details out of photos.
- Entered by me: the student's first name, session dates, and what I write on the board.
- From the parent: an email address, used only to sign in and to send sign-in and consent emails, plus the date of your consent.
- Automatically: a sign-in cookie for the portal and, for a paired iPad, a device cookie. These are used only to keep you signed in and keep the portal secure. Our hosting provider also handles IP addresses as part of running the service.
I don't ask for birthdays, addresses, schools, or student email addresses, and students can't make anything public or contact other students.
How notebooks are used
Only to provide tutoring: so a student's work carries over between sessions and their family can look back at it. Notebooks aren't used for advertising or for anything unrelated to tutoring.
Who can see a notebook
Only the student's family and me. The portal runs on two service providers, which handle the information only to provide their service to me: Cloudflare (hosting, sign-in security and storage) and Resend (sign-in and consent emails, which contain only the parent's email address).
Students under 13 and parental consent
Notebooks are kept online only with the consent of a parent or guardian. I set up each family's portal, and on first sign-in the parent reads a notice and gives consent. A day later they receive a confirmation email explaining how to take that consent back. Portal accounts belong to the parent. Bookings should also be made by a parent or guardian.
Parents' rights
As a parent or guardian you can, at any time:
- See everything held about your student in the portal, and download a copy.
- Delete all of it, using "Delete everything" in the portal. This also takes back your consent.
- Refuse further collection. Consent to storing a notebook isn't required for tutoring itself: we can work without one.
- Ask me to do any of this, or correct something, by emailing or calling using the contact details above.
How long information is kept
Notebooks are kept so a student can pick up where they left off, which is why they stay available between sessions and across a summer or school-year break. A family's notebooks, pictures, PDFs and sign-in details are deleted within 30 days of reaching 12 months after the student's last session, or sooner if you ask. Quick boards, which aren't saved to a notebook, are deleted after 30 days. Information is never kept indefinitely.
Security
Notebooks are private by default: every request is checked against who's signed in, files are stored in a private bucket with no public links, and I keep a written security program that I review at least once a year.
Sharing
I don't sell or rent anyone's information. I share it only with the services listed on this page as needed to provide tutoring, or if required by law.
Questions or requests
To ask what I have on file, correct it, or have it deleted, email [email protected].
